GEO audit for technical SaaS: who does AI cite instead of you?

One offer, one fixed fee: a productized GEO audit for dev-tools and technical SaaS, Seed to Series B. I check whether AI crawlers can actually reach your pages, scan the buying-intent prompts in your category to see which competitor the engines recommend, and hand you a prioritized fix list. Then we implement it together.

In July I scanned 72 SaaS domains. An enterprise AI-writing platform serves 403 to GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot — while its robots.txt says Allow. A major newsletter platform returns 429 when ChatGPT tries to open a page for a user mid-conversation. A clean robots.txt tells you nothing about what your CDN does to bots.

Price: from $1,500 · fixed fee — agreed before we start, scoped by site size. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices.

Want case studies before you commit? So do I. The first 3 free audits exist to buy them — see the founding offer ↓

What's included?

AI-access check

Every AI crawler tested against your live pages, through the CDN — not a robots.txt read. WAF rules override robots.txt silently, and from September 15, 2026 Cloudflare blocks training and agent crawlers by default on ad-monetized pages.

Citation scan

Buying-intent prompts for your category, run and logged: which tools the engines name, which competitor is taking your prompts, and screenshots as receipts.

Prioritized fix list

Not a 40-page PDF. A ranked list of what blocks citations today, what to fix first, and what to skip — every item with its evidence attached.

Done-with-you implementation

We rewrite priority pages for extraction, fix schema and entity structure, and wire measurement: a Share-of-Model prompt panel plus a GA4 AI-referral channel.

How does it work?

  1. Week 1–2 — Audit. AI-access check, citation scan, schema and extraction scorecard, ending in the prioritized fix list.
  2. Week 3–6 — Implement. We ship the priority fixes together: page rewrites, schema, measurement wiring.
  3. Ongoing — Track. The same prompt panel, re-run on a schedule, so citation movement is visible — and so is its absence.

A fit if…

  • You are a dev-tools or technical SaaS, Seed–Series B.
  • You already invest in SEO, but AI answers name a competitor.
  • You have content worth citing — docs, guides, comparisons.

Not a fit if…

  • You want guaranteed rankings or overnight results. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You have no content and no plan to create any.
  • You are pre-product and just exploring.

Founding offer: the full audit free, paid in proof

I don't have named client case studies yet, and I won't pretend otherwise. So the first 3 founding clients get the complete audit and fix list at no charge. The price is the case study: your before/after — zeros included — published here, dated, with your quote, updated as the data lands. When the 3 spots are gone, the offer is gone (3 of 3 still open).

Services FAQ

Is the free founding audit real? What's the catch?
Yes. The first 3 engagements are full audits at no charge. The catch is stated up front: the before/after gets published here as a named, public case study with your quote — zeros included, if that's what the data shows. Want the results kept private? Then the paid engagement is the right fit.
How much does the GEO audit cost?
One fixed fee, agreed before we start — most engagements land between $1,500 and $2,500, scaled by site size and how many pages need rewriting. Email contact@quillcite.com with your URL and I'll reply with an exact number.
Why pay for GEO instead of just doing more SEO?
Because the buyer moved. In a March 2026 G2 survey of 1,076 B2B software buyers, 51% said they now start product research with an AI chatbot, up from 29% a year earlier — and assistants answer directly, citing only a handful of sources. Rankings don't carry over automatically — ChatGPT's citations lean on Bing's index, not Google's (Seer Interactive, February 2025). GEO puts the SEO you already paid for inside those answers instead of under them.
How long does it take?
About two weeks for the audit. Implementation runs over the next four to six, depending on how many pages need rewriting and how fast your team can review.
What do you need from my team?
Access to your CMS or repo (or a developer who has it), Google Search Console, and analytics. I do most of the work or pair on it; your team mainly approves content changes.
Is this SEO or GEO?
Both — GEO sits on an SEO foundation. If your technical SEO is weak, we fix that first: AI engines lean on the same crawlability and authority signals.
